ScannerQR

Scan a QR Code Online

Decode any QR code right in your browser — no app, no signup, no upload to a server.

An online QR scanner lets you read a QR code without installing anything. Whether the code is on your screen, in a photo, or in front of your camera, you can decode it instantly from any device with a web browser. ScannerQR does all of the work locally — the image is processed on your device and never sent to a server — so even sensitive codes like tickets, payment links and Wi-Fi passwords stay private.

How it works

    1

    Open the scanner

Load this page on any device — phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. No installation or account is required.

    2

    Add your QR code

Upload an image, drag and drop it, paste a screenshot with Ctrl/Cmd + V, or switch to the Camera tab to scan a physical code.

    3

    Read the result

The decoded content appears instantly with a one-tap action — open the link, connect to Wi-Fi, save the contact, and more.

Why scan a QR code online?

Built-in phone cameras only work when the code is physically in front of you. The moment a QR code arrives as an email attachment, a saved photo, a PDF or an on-screen image, the camera approach breaks down. An online scanner solves this by accepting the image directly.

Desktop and laptop users benefit the most. Most computers have no native QR reader, so an online tool turns any browser into a fully capable scanner in seconds.

What ScannerQR can decode

Beyond plain links, the scanner recognizes structured QR content and shows the right action for each: Wi-Fi network credentials, contact cards (vCard and MeCard), calendar events, email and SMS drafts, phone numbers, geographic coordinates and cryptocurrency addresses.

It also reads common barcode and 2D formats including EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, DataMatrix, PDF417 and Aztec, so a single tool covers nearly every code you will encounter.

Private by design

Many "free" online scanners upload your image to their servers, where it can be logged or analyzed. ScannerQR uses in-browser WebAssembly decoding, which means the picture never leaves your device and there is nothing to store, share or leak.

Frequently asked questions

Is scanning a QR code online safe?
With ScannerQR it is. Decoding runs entirely in your browser, so the image and its contents never leave your device or get uploaded to a server.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Any modern browser on any device can scan QR codes here — there is nothing to download or sign up for.
Can I scan a QR code on a laptop or desktop?
Yes. Upload the image or paste a screenshot. If your computer has a webcam, you can also use the Camera tab.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, the decoder runs locally, so scanning continues to work even with a weak or dropped connection.
