Settings that work best on Linux computer
ScannerQR works with a modern Chromium- or Firefox-based browser. Use the desktop screenshot shortcut, then upload the capture. For uploaded files, prefer the original image over a version forwarded through a messaging app because messaging services often reduce resolution and contrast.
If the code is printed, use soft, even lighting and hold the camera parallel to the surface. If it is displayed on another screen, reduce reflections and make the code large enough that its individual modules remain distinct.
What to do when the code is not detected
Start by cropping excess background while leaving a clear margin around the symbol. Increase contrast, avoid digital zoom, and try a sharper source file. A damaged code may still decode when its finder patterns and enough error-correction data remain intact.
For a live camera scan, grant browser camera permission and try the rear camera on a phone or tablet. For a saved code, switch to the image or screenshot workflow rather than pointing the same device at its own display.
Privacy and result safety
